For an open tank, describe the delivery elevation and pipework. If the tank is pressurised, identify that separately. Water delivery after storage may need a different pump duty.

Is tank capacity enough to choose the pump?
Also provide the volume to replenish, the filling time, the source and delivery conditions, and any water demand during filling.
Should a float switch be connected directly to the pump?
The sensor and switching arrangement must match the controller and motor requirements. The model-specific electrical instructions determine the connection.
Two stopping conditions
Source low-water protection prevents operation under an unsuitable source condition. Tank-full control stops delivery at the receiving tank. Specify both tasks and the controller inputs they need.
